Building a brighter future for Long Island families.

On Thursday, May 15, 2025, Petro team members from Long Island East, Long Island Central, and Woodbury, NY came together to make a difference – one home at a time. Partnering with Habitat for Humanity, our volunteers lent their skills and energy to helping build a home in Bellport, NY, supporting a local family in need of safe and stable housing.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families achieve affordable housing through volunteer efforts and community support. By bringing people together to build and restore homes, Habitat for Humanity fosters independence, stability, and brighter futures for those in need. Petro is proud to support their mission, giving our team opportunities to make a hands-on impact in local communities.

Our incredible volunteers at this team effort included: April Dosch, Gina Baffa, Charlene Ramroop, Dawn Mihalek, Berenice Santiago, Dayana Yepes, Robin Steckler, Ed Thorgersen, John Carbone, Jeanne Conway, Bobby Grazier, Ian Bayer, Matthais Eato, and Mike Migliorini. Together, they rolled up their sleeves to install siding, set windows, and contributed to the construction efforts, ensuring this home comes one step closer to completion.

At Petro Home Serivces, we believe in more than just business – we believe in giving back and helping our neighbors thrive. Through initiatives like partnering with Habitat for Humanity, we’re proud to put our values into action, creating lasting change for families and communities.

A huge thank you to our volunteers for their hard work and dedication! Together, we build stronger communities.

About Habitat for Humanity
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand-up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
