At Star Group, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve. That’s why, on May 8th, 2025, the Petro team in northern New Jersey stepped up to support Habitat for Humanity, helping improve and restore a home for a neighbor in need.
Our dedicated team included Dennis Clemens, Doug Meshach, Ray DiMaggio, Eric Perron, Ricardo Sipaque, Francisco Rua, Tom Coyle, Jose Mendoza, Tom Fallon, Armando Jorge and George Colletti, who spent the day working to improve a local home, ensuring a safe, comfortable living space for the person living there. Together, they tackled a variety of tasks, including painting stairwell and dining room walls, organizing the garage, installing trim for the living room and painting the living room ceiling.
This project is part of Habitat for Humanity’s mission to provide stable and secure housing for individuals facing challenges in maintaining their homes. The homeowner – a longtime Newark resident – needed critical repairs to ensure safety and accessibility. Through outreach and the support of local volunteers like our Petro team, this project became a reality.
We’re proud of our Petro team for stepping up, lending a hand, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in our community. Their efforts embody Star Group’s commitment to social responsibility, teamwork and service.
A huge thank you to our volunteers for bringing their energy, compassion, and hard work to this initiative! Together, we build stronger communities.
About Habitat for Humanity
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit
working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand-up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build
their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to
build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
