A ‘Brush With Kindness’ in NJ

On September 3rd, 2026, Petro team members spent the day in Freehold, NJ supporting Habitat for Humanity throughtheir “A Brush with Kindness” program. Unlike a traditional home build, this initiative focuses on yard cleanup, minor repairs and exterior improvements that help homeowners maintain safe, clean and livable spaces.

Our volunteers – Dennis Clemens, Tim Bergin, D’Andre Leggett, Doug Meshach, Eric Perron, Jose Mendoza, Robert Busigo, Surendra Nath and Thomas Fallon – took on general property cleanup and stacked firewood for a local homeowner. These may seem like simple tasks, but they make a meaningful difference for individuals who need a little extra support to keep their homes safe and functional.

This effort reflects what Petro stands for: showing up for our communities, lending our hands where they’re needed and living our mission to give back in practical, human ways. It’s the kind of work that reminds us that service isn’t always about big gestures – sometimes it’s about doing the small things that help someone breathe a little easier at home.
