On June 11th, 2025, Petro team members from Poughkeepsie, NY rolled up their sleeves working with Habitat for Humanity to restore a local home’s front porch and entryway. The project included rebuilding the porch railing, replacing support beams, and reconstructing the front steps, all essential elements that help make a house feel like home.
Volunteers Ken Towers and Nick Volnick from Petro Poughkeepsie’s installation team led the way, replacing aging support beams with precision and care. They were joined by Ramon Huertas and Tyler Morgan, both oil delivery drivers, and Anthony Simoni, a garage mechanic, who tackled the heavy lifting, digging up stone and dirt to prepare a new slate landing at the base of the steps.
This project was part of Petro’s partnership with Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. With a
mission rooted in the belief that everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to live, Habitat for Humanity relies on volunteers and community support to make that vision a reality.
For our team, projects like this offer more than just a chance to give back. They build camaraderie, reinforce our shared values, and remind us that the work we do, whether in the field or in the community, has the power to change lives.
A huge thank you to our team for representing Petro with skill, heart, and humility. You didn’t just rebuild a porch, you helped rebuild hope.
