  • Fraternal Order of Police Survivor's Fund - Steve Rossi, a commercial sales representative for our Philadelphia & South Jersey district, and his family host a golf tournament every year in memory of Steve's stepfather, Vince Kelly, to raise money for the Fraternal Order of Police Survivor's Fund. The fund helps support the families of police officers who have been killed or injured in the line of duty. Petro has been a proud sponsor of this event since its inception and this year was the 5th Annual Vince Kelly Memorial Golf Tournament. This year's event was held on 8/3/13 at Philmont Country Club, just outside of Philadelphia and raised over $40,000, bringing the five year total of "The Vince" to a $215,000 raised for the families of police officers killed or injured in the line of duty.
  • Arc of Somerset County's Annual Walk-A-Thon - Petro was a proud "Gold Medal Sponsor" of the Arc of Somerset County's annual Walk-A-Thon over the summer. Arc is an organization that provides quality services and advocacy for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to support development and achievement at every stage of life. Many of our team members volunteered their time and efforts to represent Petro at the event. For more information about Arc, please visit www.thearcofsomerset.org.
  • Local Kiwanis Club - Your local PA and southern NJ team are once again looking forward to helping a local Kiwanis club provide special Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for more than 70 local families in need. Leo Witkoski, a long time Petro Regional Sales Manager, is the club's vice president and attests first-hand that the support Petro provides, along with donations from other local businesses, goes a long way towards helping accomplish the Kiwanis mission of helping the children of the community "one child at a time." Apart from providing and delivering traditional holiday meals, the Kiwanis club also hosts a special holiday party for these children and their families, with gifts on hand for all of the kids.
  • Helping kids in need in our local community - Our Regional Sales Manager, Leo Witkoski, is on the board of directors of a local Kiwanis club in Delaware County. One of their most recent community projects involved helping to fund and supply the Kiwanis Aktion Club of Don Guanella Village, a club they co-sponsor, with the provi¬sions and supervision needed to make Easter baskets for many of the worthy and less privileged children of the local community.
  • The Don Guanella Village, located in Springfield, Delaware County is home to the Don Guanella School for teenage boys with develop-mental delays, and the Cardinal Krol Center for developmentally disabled adult men. “This was really good for our club,” Leo said. “It put us in a position to help the residents of Don Guanella who, in turn, helped the young children of the area. I think we were able to provide a sense of dignity and purpose for the men and boys of Don Guanella while accomplishing our ultimate goal of trying to help the children in our community.”
  • Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time and the local Kiwanis clubs located through-out the country and around the world each aspire to accomplish this goal in their own way. To learn more about Kiwanis and how you can get more involved, visit their website: www.kiwanis.org. Or, if you’d rather not get personally involved but want to contribute to this worthy cause, you can simply send Leo a check addressed to him at our local office at 650 Knowles Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 18966 made out to “Kiwanis Club of Baltimore Pike.” Leo assures us that any and every contribution will be received with appreciation.
