It's Get To Know Your Customers Day!

Petro tech talking to a customerIt’s our favorite day again! The one that we really look forward to every few months: Get To Know Your Customers Day!

It’s our favorite holiday because we have a fantastic opportunity to celebrate those people who ultimately keep our company successful – our customers!

Every day at Petro Home Services, we strive to understand the wants and needs of our customers. By doing so, we will achieve our goal of providing the best in customer satisfaction. However, getting to know a customer often goes beyond this scope and we wanted to share a few examples of how we have accomplished that this year:

Recently, one of our customer service representatives called to discuss a pricing plan renewal and learned that the customer was very nervous about upcoming major surgery. The customer service representative marked the surgery date in the calendar as they wanted to check-in on the customer’s recovery and sent a Get Well card. The customer called Petro after receiving the card, letting us know she was deeply touched by their kind gesture.

In early January 2017, during an extreme cold snap, a customer called to let us know that he had no heat. A Petro service technician promptly went to his home but found the customer to be confused, clearly unwell and unable to communicate if he had anyone close to help him. The service tech made sure that his heating was back up and running and informed his supervisor of the situation. One of our Petro team members who lives in the same neighborhood as the customer, contacted his neighbors and the local social services team to make sure that someone took care of the customer as soon as possible. Everyone was very grateful for the kindness and proactive manner in which the Petro team worked to ensure the the customer was safe.

Over many years of great service, one of our Poughkeepsie customer service team members has consistently gone above and beyond getting to know customers by building warm and friendly relationships. She always notes the birthday or our long-time customers, schedules a follow-up call to wish them happy birthday, often singing her greeting to many delighted customers. One of these customers recently celebrated her 97th birthday and noted that she looks forward to her “Happy Birthday!” call every year.

This is the kind of local, personalized customer service and support that we strive to achieve every day. That’s why we think this special holiday, getting to know customers like friends and family should be celebrated more (like every day).

Thanks to our customers for letting us get to know you! Happy #GetToKnowYourCustomer Day!
